If you didn’t catch my first Utah post, be sure to check it out for my recommendations on what to do in Salt Lake City and Park City. One of my favorite things we did in Utah was take a trip to Mirror Lake. It was a gorgeous 45-60 minute drive, easy for all of our family members (who were a variety of ages) and so much fun. We were able to walk around the lake and get some beautiful photos of the scenery. On our way to Mirror Lake, we stopped at the Samak Smoke House for a bathroom break, beef jerky and other goodies. We took our time on the drive up to Mirror Lake, admiring the scenery, stopping for photos and getting out to explore Upper Provo Falls.
Over the last month, we’ve been able to explore some of the cities near us and it’s been a lot of fun just to be tourists in our own backyard. I love that we live somewhere with so much history and respect for the things of the past. I absolutely love Roswell and its charming downtown area. They also have some amazing restaurants, shops and outdoor activities. This weekend, we went to the Old Roswell Mill on Vickery Creek. Roswell was founded as a mill town, so the remains of the mill have been converted into a really cool trail. Also, this weekend was so beautiful and I can just feel spring coming our way soon. Hope you enjoy a few photos!
I’ve said this before, and I’ll probably say it a thousand times over, but I really think one of the most educational things you can do is travel. It opens your eyes to new ways of doing things and helps you see yourself a little more clearly. And if you can travel with an open mind, you might even find ways to love people you just met and be reminded that despite all the bad happening in this world, God has so much goodness for us.
A few weekends ago, we took a trip north to Dahlonega to visit Wolf Mountain Vineyards & Winery. This place had been on our Georgia bucket list ever since we moved here and we were excited when our friends invited us along. We are big fans of traveling, but also fans of exploring the area we live in. Because we are relatively new here, there’s still just so much to see. This place is beautiful and worth the drive if you’re anywhere near the Georgia mountains. We ate at their really cool cafe, took a wine tour and did a wine tasting at the end. Here are a few photos from our weekend! Hope you enjoy.
The best time is always the time that’s well spent with the ones you love most. A few weekends ago, some of our siblings and niece came for a visit. Watching my niece grow up is one of the sweetest things and it’s true what they say about kids growing up too fast. I feel like Baby G was born yesterday. It’s also been really cool to see my sister and brother-in-law become such amazing parents to their little one. We know how important it is to make the most of the time we have together and document our little adventures. We took Gracyn on her first big Atlanta weekend tour. We went antique shopping, ate lots of good food, visited the Zoo Atlanta (a really great zoo as far as zoos are concerned), walked Piedmont Park and went down a million slides. 😉 Hope you enjoy this sweet video (and a few pictures too)!
Last weekend, we went to a little mountain trail in North Georgia called Sawnee Mountain Preserve, but it’s also known as Indian Seats. Two of our best friends, Ashley & Nathan, were in town for New Year’s, so we decided it was a perfect time to explore this beautiful part of Georgia on an equally beautiful day. We finally had some cooolllddd weather so I was really excited to be outside! As always, I just had to take a few pictures and I even made a little video of our adventures. I’m glad I did, because I think this will be a day we look back on and cherish for years to come. Sometimes it’s the little adventures with lots of laughter and really awesome people that mean the most. Hope you enjoy!
Gosh, I’ve loved this year. It’ll always have such a special place in my heart because we had so many big moments in 2015. As every new year approaches, I like to look back on the trips and travels we’ve had. My favorite was definitely our sweet honeymoon trip to Italy. I also loved our road trips and stateside adventures! It really doesn’t matter where you go, what matters is who you’re with. And my favorite travel partner will always be the guy I got to marry earlier this year! 😉 So, here’s a look back on some of my favorite travels of 2015!
1. Venice, Italy: What a beautiful, quaint and quiet city. The architecture was incredible and the people were wonderful.
