Hi everyone! I haven’t been on the blog lately with finishing up the school year and a couple of other weekend trips. I always say things will slow down, but they never do. 😉 Here’s the last of our Ireland photos! Before we left Ireland to head to Ireland, we decided to take a tour from Dublin to the Cliffs of Moher and Galway City. We did our tour through Wild Rover Tours. If you don’t have enough time to rent a car and drive around Ireland, these day trips are wonderful. I love them because someone else does all the work and you just enjoy your day. Hope you enjoy our last few photos…can’t wait to share our Iceland travel tips and photos!
Our Ireland Spring Break trip was such a sweet time and we loved everything about this country. The people were nice, the food was yummy, the streets were charming and the countryside even more beautiful. As with all of our trips, we always try to make a video documenting our adventures because I think it’s a really fun way to keep your memories. Hope you enjoyed Part I of our Ireland trip and stay tuned for photos of our Galway City and Cliffs of Moher day!
Meanwhile, here’s a video of our Ireland adventures!
Over spring break, Matt and I had our first WOW Air experience and ventured back to Europe! We went to Dublin, Ireland and Reykjavik, Iceland. We absolutely adored both. I thought I’d start by sharing photos from our time in Dublin and we’ll definitely be posting a video in a few weeks, as well. Here are a few tips about where we stayed, places to eat and other recommendations. Hope enjoy our tips and our first batch of photos! Stay tuned for more photos about our time in Galway City and visiting the Cliffs of Moher.
Where we stayed: We stayed at the Brooks Hotel, Dublin for three days. I would highly recommend this one, because it’s an amazing location and close to everything you want to do in Dublin. The staff were all super helpful, rooms were big especially by European standards and they even let us borrow an umbrella. (For reals, bring rain gear to Ireland haha). I’ve mentioned this before, but we are huge believers in travel as one of the best ways to spend our money and we also love the Chase credit card points system. We fund a lot of trips this way!
Over the long weekend, I went to Pensacola to visit one of my best friends and her sweet daughter. There’s something so precious about friendships that stand the test of time, distance and various life stages. Lucius Annaeus Seneca once said, “One of the most beautiful qualities of true friendship is to understand and to be understood.” I can’t think of a better way to sum up friendship and the joys it brings.
Enjoy a few photos of our time together! Also, how pretty are these Florida beaches!? My home state sure is a pretty one. Surprisingly, this was my first real trip to Pensacola and I thought it was a really cute town. I liked the diversity, things to do and pretty Florida scenes everywhere we looked. Continue reading
Hi friends! I’ve posted before about my packing tips for packing in a backpack, but it was for a warmer weather trip to Italy. This time, I wanted to share some tips on packing for a winter or colder trip in a backpack. I can’t say enough good things about packing in a backpack and how easy it makes travel. Here’s my last post on packing in a backpack and my trip planning tips where I link a few of the items I use for packing. In this post, I’ll show you how to pack for a 7-10 day trip to a colder place and share where you can find a few of my favorite winter travel items.
It’s been a while since I’ve posted about trip and travel planning, so I thought I’d do an updated post all about my very best travel tips. Check out my previous Euro trip planning post here. In this post I’ll show you where to buy a few of our favorite travel items and I’ll share travel tips I’ve learned since my previous post. I’m in no way an expert, but I’ve found that other blogger’s honest opinions and travel posts have actually been one of the most helpful tools for me while trip planning for us. I’m pretty Type-A and I’m all about budget friendly travel, so if you’re into that, this post is for you!
This is always one of my favorite posts (check out last year’s here). I love looking back on the year and thinking with such humble gratitude about all of the amazing opportunities God gives us. Most importantly, I love remembering all of the special times we’ve had with the ones we love. With each passing year, I’m reminded why God didn’t create people to be alone and he wants us to enjoy the things He’s given us. Obviously, this means different things to different people, but to me, I love enjoying God’s world by traveling with loved ones, being reminded that there are genuinely beautiful people everywhere and learning a few lessons about myself along the way. This year’s travel adventures in particular have challenged and grown me in ways I don’t think any other experience could have. Also, I love what traveling does to Matt and I’s relationship. As time has gone on and we’ve tackled more trips together, we’ve been given more opportunities to be team players, figure out what we’re good at and discover more reasons why we’re good for each other. Nothing makes you work out your problems like being stuck in a foreign country with your spouse and being forced to face your problems head on.

You guys know I love to travel, but I think I love the planning part of traveling just as much as the trip itself. It’s a weird Type-A sort of thing. 😉 One of the most important parts of planning a trip is figuring out what to pack and how to pack. We love to pack our things in our Osprey backpacks, even for longer trips like our two week trip to Italy or trip to Seattle & Vancouver. See my previous posts about packing in a backpack and my detailed packing list.
I’ve found that you can still pack in a carry-on-backpack and look cute while traveling. And here’s how! Check out the links below.
After Chelsea’s wedding at the Biltmore, we came back the next day to do a house tour of the Biltmore estate. I’ve always been fascinated by the Vanderbilts so I always love visiting this place. If you haven’t, it’s definitely worth a visit. Here are a few photos of our day exploring the house and gardens. I can’t wait to come back at Christmastime, because I heard it’s the best time to visit.
Happy October, friends! It’s finally cold here and I can hardly keep myself from smiling. I literally love this time of year better than any other part of the year. Last weekend, we drove up to Asheville to see one of my best high school friends get married to the man of her dreams. The Biltmore is probably one of the prettiest wedding venues I’ve ever seen. Their ceremony overlooked the mountains at sunset and couldn’t have been more beautiful. I’ve said this before, but it’s always so sweet to get to see one of your best friends pledge to spend their life with the person they love most. I love getting to see my friends start marriages, families and adventures. There’s something just so special about witnessing your friends’ and loved ones’ big moments in life.
