Nursery Reveal

One of my very favorite parts of preparing for our baby girl has been putting together her nursery over the last few months. I’ve documented some of her nursery projects, but now it’s time to share her vintage floral nursery.  I decided to go with pinks, yellows, greens and blues. I love color, so I figured I’d go ahead and introduce our girl to color at a very young age. 😉 However, we wanted the big pieces of furniture to be white so we can use this nursery for future children, no matter the gender. Also, we have a small nursery, so space saving and utilizing all of our space was really important to me.  I’ve linked where you can find her nursery items underneath photos so you can shop our nursery picks. We had a goal of not breaking the bank while planning this nursery, and I have to say, I’m really happy with the affordable pieces we found!

When I’m decorating anything in our house, I don’t like to buy all new things. I like to use things we already have, hand-me-downs, antiques and then buy things. This yellow bookcase I had in my old apartment and my dad painted it for me, so I loved the idea of using it to store Baby E’s library. The pom pom lamp was something I also had and just added a bit of detail to it (see lamp blog post here).

This sewing hoop embroidery art is so special to me, because my childhood neighbor made it for me when I got married. But the coolest part about this sewing hoop is that my birth mom gave it to my neighbor when I was a kid. I always like to remember my mom by trying to incorporate her memory into our home or lives, and this was a really special way to do that in the baby’s room.

Glider: I searched high and low for a glider that would be small enough for our small nursery, still comfy and glide on carpet. I love the rockers with wooden sleigh-like bottoms, but I hear everyone says they’re terrible on carpet. After talking with friends and sitting in a few, I decided on this Delta Children Epic Swivel Glider. You can also find it on Amazon, so price check before you buy. I love the sandy color, easy assembly and design. I also love this Benbridge Glider, which is the exact same as the Epic Glider, just comes in different colors with different fabric. Best part about this glider is the price.

It’s a little bit surreal to see a baby nursery in our house and to know that her arrival is just a few weeks away! :) Can’t wait to snuggle her in that nursery.

Cheers,

Aubrey
