It’s been a busy summer, which is why I haven’t written in a while. We bought a house, didn’t have internet for a month (thanks Comcast), went to Hungary on a mission trip and now we’re back dealing with the challenges of home ownership. Somewhere in between all of that, we went to Blue Ridge with family and had a couple of local adventures. We’ve also had a lot of water damage. We had to move out of our apartment early because pipes kept breaking upstairs. So, we had to move into our new home a month early and less than a week before we left for Hungary. After we got back from Hungary, we had some water damage in our new house. Thankfully, things seem to be getting sorted out and I’m looking forward to the beginning of the school year.
This summer has taught me a lot. Mostly, it’s taught me that God has a plan and it really doesn’t always line up with our thoughts on how things should go. He uses adversity to strengthen us and he gives us the strength to go through it. I have this need to control things around me and control what happens, but I’m learning that I can’t. It’s been a pretty exhausting summer, to be quite honest. But through all of that, it’s been cool to see how these challenges have strengthened Matt and I’s relationship. I’ve also been reminded of how prayer and communication can change a lot about the way you handle stress. Here are a few photos of the last month!
Hope you guys have been enjoying your summer! Also, Budapest photos and a video are coming soon.
Thankfully, we are finally getting some much needed downtime at home! It’s been a whirlwind summer, but I’ve been left feeling grateful for the many blessings of this crazy summer.
