This past Monday, Matt and I celebrated our first year of marriage. I just can’t even believe we’ve been married for an entire year already. It’s been the sweetest year with lots of challenges, laughter, joy, growing and learning. There’s no one I would rather have by my side as I try to figure out life. Here’s a look back on our wedding day and what I had to say about being married for 6 months! Also, here’s a video of our wedding day. It still makes me cry a bit 😉
For our anniversary, we celebrated with a trip to Vancouver and Seattle (blog post coming soon!). It was so much fun and so special to get to spend an entire week together just exploring a new place. We had a lot of time to reflect on this past year. If I had to summarize this year, I’d say that it was mostly all about learning how to love and show grace to the person you share your life with. Everything seems to come down to those two concepts. I love seeing how much God has shown me about myself through my marriage and how much Matt has taught me about myself. Yes, the first year of marriage is hard, but every good thing in life takes a lot of planning, a lot of hard work, perseverance and grace. I also think the first year of marriage is a really beautiful time where you have the opportunity to make yourself better and better serve God by loving this other person you’ve been given. I love Matt more every day and I can’t wait to see what this next year holds for us. Cheers to a hundred more years together!
